EUGENE, Ore. (AP) - Ayinde Ubaka scored 20 points to lead California past Oregon 62-60 Saturday at McArthur Court.
It was the fourth straight win for the Golden Bears (14-6, 8-3 Pac-10), who improved to 5-2 on the road in conference games this season.
Leon Powe recorded 15 points and nine rebounds for Cal, falling one rebound short of his seventh-straight double-double.
Although he was only 6 of 18 from the field, Powe hit a couple of key field goals late in the game to help the Golden Bears hold off the Ducks as they attempted to rally.
Powe's jumper with 3:42 to play gave Cal a 53-47 lead and stopped a 7-2 run by Oregon (10-13, 4-7). He then hit an 18-foot jumper with 1:28 to play after the Ducks had cut their deficit to 54-51.
Cal sealed the win by making 6-of-7 free-throws in the final 43 seconds, including one by Theo Robertson with four seconds left to give the Bears a 62-59 advantage.
DeVon Hardin added 10 points for the Golden Bears, while Maarty Leunen led the Ducks with 15 points and nine rebounds.
Oregon, which has lost five straight, led 24-17 following a layup by Brandon Lincoln 6:08 before halftime.
But Ubaka hit a floater on Cal's next possession, igniting a 14-4 run to end the half. Ubaka scored 10 of his 13 first-half points during that stretch, including a 3-pointer at the buzzer to give the Bears a 31-28 lead at the break.
