2011 Q&A with Erin Magill
Cal Career: Finished her career with 23 goals, 13 assists (59 points)...her 23 goals are one shy of ranking in the top-10 in program history.
2011: Earned All-Conference honors from NorPac...scored seven goals with four assists (18 points)...began the season with goals in each of the first two games of the year, the game-winner at Louisville and the game-winner in overtime against Michigan State...six of her seven goals during the season were game-winning goals...had a goal or an assist in six straight games from Oct. 14 through the end of the NorPac tournament (Nov. 5)...scored one goal in each of the three games of the NorPac Tournament, helping lead the Bears to the tournament championship...played nearly every minute this season, with 20 starts...one of the team captains...anchored a defense that had five shutouts and a goals-against average (1.58) that ranked No. 17 in the country.
2010: Earned NorPac West Defensive Player of the Week honors for the first week of the season ... notched four goals and four assists, along with three defensive saves that ranked second on the team ... scored in Cal's 3-2 double overtime win over Fairfield ... collected one game-winning goal ... started all 19 games.
2009: Named to the All-Nor-Pac second team and to the Longstreth/NFHCA All-West Region Team...won NorPac West Offensive Player of the Week honors on Sept. 29 and NorPac Defensive Player of the Week honors on Oct. 20...led the Bears in goals with nine and was second in points (21)...also led the team in game-winning goals with three (Towson, Stanford, Radford)...in the conference rankings, finished tied for seventh in points, sixth in goals and seventh in shots (43)...recorded one defensive save...amassed a team-high 25 shots on goal...started all 19 games.
2008: Started 10 of 14 games played...scored three goals including the winning goal vs. Appalachian State (9/7).
2007: Redshirted.
High School: Named first-team All-CCS in 2006, second-team All-CCS in 2005...selected the Mission Trail Athletic League MVP in 2006...MTAL Junior of the Year in 2005...tall defender played in 2007 National Futures Championships...a three-year Futures participant and two-year National Futures Championship participant...also played two years of varsity softball and one year of varsity basketball.
Personal: Born on Jan. 27, 1990, in San Jose, Calif....parents are Mala and Patrick Magill...sister, Melanie, is a Major in the U.S. Army, who has served in both Iraq and Afghanistan...cousin, Sheila, attended Cal...political science major.
