BERKELEY -- No. 25 California men's basketball wraps up a two-game season-opening homestand with a midweek tilt against UC Irvine this Wednesday. The Golden Bears tip off against the Anteaters at 8 p.m. in Haas Pavilion looking to protect a 20-game home winning streak, tied for the eighth-longest streak in the country.Though AP Preseason All-American Ivan Rabb missed Cal's season opener against South Dakota State as he recovers from a preseason toe sprain, four Cal players scored in double figures, led by senior guards Sam Singer and Jabari Bird's 14 points apiece, including four triples from Bird.
Cal is 17-2 in non-conference home games under head coach Cuonzo Martin and 58-5 on Pete Newell Court vs. non-Pac-12 opponents since the start of the 2009-10 campaign.

Cal made its return to the Associated Press Top 25 Rankings this week, appearing in the poll for the first time this season at No. 25. It marks Cal's first ranking since March 14, 2016, when the team earned a No. 23 ranking. The Bears were receiving votes in both the AP and USA Today Coaches' poll to open the season.LAST TIME OUT
Cal defeated South Dakota State, 82-53, in the season opener at Haas Pavilion.• Seniors Sam Singer and Jabari Bird paced the Bears with 14 points each, including a 4-9 night from beyond the arc by Bird.
• Bird and Singer were among the four Bears to score in double figures, with Grant Mullins (13) and Roger Moute a Bidias (12) getting in on the action too.
• Moute a Bidias tallied career-highs in four categories, setting new career-high numbers for points (12), assists (5), and steals (2) while matching a personal-best six rebounds.
• Kingsley Okoroh recorded a game-best four blocks in a nine-minute span.
• Five newcomers made their Golden Bear debuts: Charlie Moore, Mullins, Don Coleman, Roman Davis and Koko Kurdoghlian. Moore and Mullins both earned starts in the debut.
WEST COAST TRIO SIGNS WITH CAL FOR 2017
California picked up a trio of talented West Coast prospects in the early signing period when Earl Watson Elite teammates Jemarl Baker and Juhwan Harris-Dyson, as well as Utah's Trevin Knell signed their National Letters of Intent to join Cuonzo Martin's program.• Baker: A four-star guard and No. 66 on the ESPN Top 100 for the class of 2017.
• Harris-Dyson: A four-star guard who averaged 14.7 points and 13.6 rebounds as a junior at Heritage Christian School.
• Knell: A three-star guard from Utah and elite shooter who notched 3.6 triples per game as a junior at Woods Cross High School. He will reclassify to 2019 after serving a two-year LDS Church mission.
