Bears Look To Match Program's Best Home Win Streak

BERKELEY -- After two games on the road, California men's basketball returns to Haas Pavilion seeking to match the program's best home win streak in school history against UC Davis. The action tips off on Saturday at 7:30 p.m., live on Pac-12 Network.Cal is 25-0 at home since March 1, 2015 and looking for a 26th consecutive home win, a feat that was last accomplished with a Dec. 27, 1958 to Dec. 16, 1960 streak. Cal is 22-2 in non-conference home games under head coach Cuonzo Martin and 63-5 on Pete Newell Court vs. non-Pac-12 opponents since the start of the 2009-10 campaign.
Saturday's contest also marks Jewish Heritage Night, in honor of senior guard Sam Singer. A special $23 ticket gives fans a commemorative T-shirt as well as access to a post-game Q&A with Singer. Tickets can be purchased using the code "JHN2016" at CalBears.com/code.
The Golden Bears are coming off back-to-back games at the Fox Sports 1 Pearl Harbor Invitational, where they split a pair of games against Princeton (W, 62-51) and Seton Hall (L, 60-57).

Jabari Bird made his return to the hardwood for the first time in six games against Princeton, reemerging with 13 points and eight rebounds. He finished his time in Honolulu with a 22-point, career-best nine-rebound outing against Seton Hall to average 17.5 points and 8.5 rebounds in two games since his return. BEARS BUILD ON DEFENSIVE PROWESS
With defense as a staple of head coach Cuonzo Martin's program, California is once again emerging as a force on the floor, where the Bears rank among the nation's elite in six different categories. Cal is sixth in defensive rebounds per game (31.89), with an +11.0 rebound margin over their opponents, good for 10th in the nation, with 43.56 total rebounds per game, a number that ranks 12th. Cal's field goal defense is also 12th in the nation as the Bears limited opponents to scoring just 36.2 percent of their shots. Cal's three-point field goal defense is 16th (27.2 percent), and with a scoring defense that ranks 19th at 60.0.KING'S COURT
Kingsley Okoroh is coming off a productive stretch that saw the junior center set career-highs in four games from Nov. 21 to Nov. 30. The Derby, England product started the string off by setting a personal-best rebound total of 9 against San Diego State, and followed the performance with a career-high 5 blocks against Wyoming on Friday. He capped off the week by matching both his career-best point (10) and rebound (9) totals and setting a new personal-best mark for assists with 3 against Southeastern Louisiana. Against Louisiana Tech, Okoroh set new career-high board (12) and assist (4) totals on top of matching his career-high blocks (5).Okoroh checks in at 17th in the nation in blocks per game (2.89) and 14th for total blocks (26).
