First-teamers Ashtyn Davis and Jordan Kunaszyk led Cal's selections on the Athlon Sports All-Pac-12 team.
BERKELEY – Five Cal players have been named to the Athlon Sports All-Pac-12 team announced Wednesday.
Ashtyn Davis and
Jordan Kunaszyk both earned first-team honors with Davis being selected as both a safety and kick returner.
Camryn Bynum and
Evan Weaver were second-team picks while
Patrick Mekari was a third-team selection.

FIRST TEAM
Ashtyn Davis, S/KR, 6-1, 190, RJr., 2L (Santa Cruz, CA/Santa Cruz HS)
• Has earned first-team (Associated Press, Athlon Sports) and honorable mention (Pac-12 Coaches) All-Pac-12 honors as a 2018 junior
• Has started all 12 games and registered career highs of 45 tackles, a team-high four interceptions that he has returned for 59 yards and his first career pick-six as well as five pass breakups
• Has also returned 24 kicks for 629 yards and his lone career kick return touchdown on a career-long 89-yarder against Idaho State
• Tied for first in the Pac-12 in both total interceptions (4) and interceptions per game (0.3), ranking tied for 13th and tied for 15th nationally
• Shares the Pac-12 lead with three others with his single kickoff return touchdown that ranks tied for sixth nationally, while his 26.2 yards per kick return average is second in the Pac-12 and 16th nationally
• Second on the squad with 688 all-purpose yards
• Named Pac-12 Defensive Player of the Week for the first time in his career after a pair of interceptions against Colorado that he ran back a combined 59 yards including a 35-yard touchdown for his first career pick-six while adding three tackles, a critical pass breakup on Colorado's final offensive play and four kick returns for 82 yards to total 141 all-purpose yards
Jordan Kunaszyk, ILB, 6-3, 235, RSr., 2L, Sacramento, CA (American River College/Roseville HS)
• Has earned second-team All-American (Sports Illustrated) honors as well as first-team (Athlon, Pac-12 Coaches) and second-team (Associated Press) All-Pac-12 recoginition as a 2018 senior while also being one of eight national semifinalists for the Lott IMPACT Trophy
• Has started all 12 games and compiled career highs of 133 tackles, 11.0 tackles for loss (-55 yards), 4.0 sacks (-24 yards) and five forced fumbles as well as a career-high-tying one fumble recovery
• Ranks first in the Pac-12 and third in nation with 6.9 solo tackles per game while he is 12th nationally with 11.1 total tackles per game
• Had a career-high 22 tackles against UCLA for the most by a Cal player since 1993 as well as the most by a Pac-12 player and tied for the fifth most nationally in 2018

Camryn Bynum, CB, 6-0, 180, RSo., 1L (Corona, CA/Centennial HS)
• Has earned second-team (Associated Press, Athlon Sports) and honorable mention (Pac-12 Coaches) All-Pac-12 honors as a 2018 sophomore
• Has started all 12 games and recorded 43 tackles as well as a career-high nine pass breakups, a career-high-tying two interceptions and 1.0 tackle for loss (-1 yard)
• Had a career-high nine tackles at USC and a career-high four pass breakups against North Carolina while his interceptions came at Arizona and against Washington
Evan Weaver, ILB, 6-3, 245, Jr., 2L, Spokane, WA (Gonzaga Prep)
• Has earned second-team All-American (Pro Football Focus) honors as well as first-team (Associated Press) and second-team (Athlon, Pac-12 Coaches) All-Pac-12 recognition as a 2018 junior
• Has started all 12 games and recorded career highs of 143 tackles, 9.5 tackles for loss (-42 yards), 4.5 sacks (-28 yards), two interceptions that he has returned for 47 yards and his lone career touchdown, six pass breakups and one quarterback hurry
• Ranks tied for fifth nationally with 6.4 solo tackles per game and eighth in total tackles with 11.9 per contest
• Has nine double-digit tackle games including a career-high 19 tackles against Colorado and has led or co-led the team in tackles 10 times, both team highs
• Named the Pac-12 Defensive Player of the Week by both the league and College Sports Madness when he had 11 tackles, 1.0 tackle for loss and a pick-six 37-yard interception return that was Cal's lone touchdown in a 12-10 win over eventual Pac-12 champion Washington

Patrick Mekari, OL, 6-4, 320, Sr., 3L (Westlake Village, CA/Westlake HS)
• Earned second-team All-Pac-12 honors from The Associated Press and a third-team selection from Athlon as a 2018 senior
• On the watch list for the Outland Trophy given annually to the nation's top interior lineman on either side of the football
• Started the first 10 games at left tackle while also seeing action at both left guard and right guard but missed the final two regular-season contests and will not play in the Cheez-It Bowl due to injury
• Did not record any statistics other than participation
• Named Cal's Offensive Player of the Week in the season opener against North Carolina
