The surging California women's gymnastics squad returns to Haas Pavilion this Sunday to take on their eighth ranked opponent of the season, No. 4 Utah. Meet time against the perennial powerhouse Utes is set for 11 a.m. in Haas Pavilion, airing live on the Pac-12 Networks.The Bears are coming off a road victory at Stanford, where the Bears outscored the Cardinal 196.700-196.425 with their best road score of the season. The win marked California's second victory against Stanford this season after topping the Cardinal in the NorCal Classic to open 2018.
The Bears saw different stars shine in the win over the 25th-ranked Cardinal, with Alicia Gallarzo taking second place overall on the floor, and Nina Schank and Kyana George sharing third place on beam. Gallarzo performed for only the second time in her career on floor, placing only behind Stanford's Elizabeth Price's perfect 10 performance. Kyana George took second in the all-around competition, with consistent 9.85 performances on every apparatus and a career-best 39.400 total. Arianna Robinson placed second in the vault competition with her career-best 9.95 effort on the event, leading the Bears to their second-highest vault total of the season.

10THThe Bears are now ranked 10th nationally on vault after recording a 49.275 on the event against No.25 Stanford. Arianna Robinson led the way on the apparatus, scoring a career-high 9.95 for the Bears. Every gymnast in Cal's lineup turned in a 9.775 or higher.

Against the Cardinal, Alicia Gallarzo scored a career-best 9.875 in only her second-ever collegiate performance on the floor. She last performed floor in her freshman year at NCAA Regionals, helping Cal clinch a berth to the NCAA Championships. Against Stanford, Gallarzo also scored a career-high 9.875 on the vault, helping the Bears record their second-best vault performance of the year.

For two weeks in a row, the Bears have scored 49.0+ on the Bars. The Bears have seen their team scores on the event grow throughout the season, and their 49.125 performance against Stanford marked their second-best score of the season and best score of the season on the road on the event.

California recorded a 49.0 or better on all four events, beating No. 25 Stanford 196.700-196.425.• The Bears scored their second-best team total this season with a 196.700, and highest road score this year.
• California earned its second-best vault total of the season, moving the Bears to No. 10 in the nation on the event.
• Kyana George placed second in the all-around competition, with 9.85 performances on all four events. George matched her career-high 39.400 all-around score for the second week in a row.
• The Bears scored 49.125 on the bars, making it a second-straight week with a 49.0+ on the event.
• Alicia Gallarzo scored a career-high 9.875 and took second place on floor in her second career outing on the event.

• Arianna Robinson set a new personal-best 9.95 on vault.
• Chelsea Shu set a career-high 9.85 on floor.
VAULTING TO VICTORY
The Bears have seen a steady increase in their vault score throughout the season, finishing with a 49.400 against No.4 UCLA, the second-highest score on the event in program history. California has won the individual title on the event in three of their past five meets, including wins against No. 14 Arizona State, No. 16 Arizona and No. 13 Washington. In their record-breaking performance against UCLA, the Bears saw career highs by Kyana George (9.90), Cassidy Keelen (9.85) and Rachael Mastrangelo (9.825), and a season-high performance from Toni-Ann Williams (9.925), who took second on the event. California is currently ranked 10th nationally in the event, their highest position in the national standings. Despite using just one vault with a 10.0 start value (Arianna Robinson, Piked Ilg), five different gymnasts have tallied 9.90s or higher on the event, including a career-best 9.95 by Robinson.BEARS DISPLAY DEPTH
This season's Golden Bear roster features one of Cal's deepest rosters in recent years, with 12 of the 13 currently available gymnasts seeing time in a competitive lineup this season. After competing the full 2017 season without a single all-arounder, the Bears now have two consistent options in Toni-Ann Williams and Kyana George. Of the 31 unique routines in the event lineups, 25 of those 31 routines have earned season-high totals of 9.85 or better.
TONI AWARD WINNER
Toni-Ann Williams' 2017 season may have ended with an Achilles injury, but the Olympian has come back stronger than ever to lead the 2018 Golden Bears. She owns a team-high 10 event titles and is ranked in the top 50 on vault (33rd), floor (24th) and the all-around (42nd). With her 9.975 performance on floor at Arizona State, she matched her career-best score on the event and won the individual title, while matching the top floor score in school history. Williams won three event titles in back-to-back weeks at Washington and Arizona State.
RANKED ON THE ROAD TO NATIONALS
The Golden Bears opened 2018 at No. 11 in the Road to Nationals preseason coaches poll, the program's second-highest ranking in school history. Cal's No. 11 ranking was just one spot behind last season's best-ever No. 10 ranking.Cal is set to face four opponents ranked in the Road to Nationals preseason top 25 this season, and nearly every single program the Bears will face this season is ranked or received votes in the preseason poll, including two top-three programs in Utah (No. 5) and UCLA (6), and seven top 30 programs, including Washington (15), Stanford (18), Arizona (26), Minnesota (27) and Central Michigan (30).
