Cal To Face Top-15 Field at Pac-12 Invite

BERKELEY – California will see a familiar field this weekend as it heads to Stanford for the Pac-12 Invitational on Saturday.
While the No. 12 Golden Bears and No. 2 Stanford compete in the Mountain Pacific Sports Federation for men's gymnastics, the quad meet will pit the longtime rivals against No. 13 Arizona State and No. 15 Washington, Pac-12 member schools, as well.
The meet is slated for a 4 p.m. (PT) start with live stats available here.
Cal competed at Stanford on Feb. 10 finishing second, behind the host-team, with a season-high score of 395.050. The Bears' night was highlighted by junior Aaron Mah's meet win in the all-around competition with an 80.350 score. Freshman Shane Sadighi also qualified for the prestigious Winter Cup in Las Vegas on Feb. 15-17 last time out at The Farm. He scored a career-best 77.100 in the all-around.
Saturday presents tough competition with the Bears looking for their first meet win of the season and their first win over the Cardinal since 2012. Cal has found success more recently against the Huskies with a 397.00-387.100 win last season in Seattle and against the Sun Devils who they outscored 407.300-397.400 in the SC United Open in Los Angeles on Jan. 28, 2017.
"We are excited to once again take the team on the road to compete in the Pac-12 invite," head coach JT Okada said. "It's really a great opportunity to get all the regional teams together to compete and show that college men's gymnastics is still strong on the West Coast."
