Bears Wrap Up Racing In Rotterdam
Edmunds And Popa Win Silver At World Rowing Cup III
ROTTERDAM, The Netherlands  -  A busy weekend of racing wrapped up on Sunday as the World Rowing Cup III came to a close in Rotterdam, the Netherlands. The third and final World Rowing Cup event of the summer saw several current and past members of the Cal women's rowing team compete for their respective nations, winning a pair of medals.
Four Golden Bears competed in the women's eight, with alumna Rosie Popa and
Jacinta Edmunds winning silver for Australia. It's the second medal of the summer for the Golden Bear duo, who won gold in the event at the World Rowing Cup II earlier this summer in Poland.
Rowan McKellar helped Great Britain to a fifth-place finish in the eight while
Charlotte Wesselmann and the German eight took 10
th overall.
Recent graduate and First Team All-American
Sydney Payne narrowly missed out on the podium, helping the Canadian four to a fourth-place finish. Rising senior
Juliane Faralisch also competed in the four, helping Germany to a ninth-place finish overall.
The next major event on the international racing schedule is the Under-23 World Championship, which will be held from July 24-28 in Sarasota-Bradenton, Florida.
