NEW ORLEANS – California track & field was honored on Monday as 12 individuals and both the men's and women's teams earned distinction from the U.S. Track & Field and Cross Country Coaches Association (USTFCCCA).
 
Ezinne Abba, Mina Anglero, Annie Boos, Jordyn Colter, Rebecca Croft, Deshae Wise, Kai Benedict, Tyler Brendel, Paramveer Chohan, Garrett Corcoran, Tuomas Kaukolahti and Misana Viltz earned individual honors.
 
Corcoran earned the award for the fourth straight year, while Chohan notched his third straight honor on the USTFCCCA All-Academic team. Brendel also earned his third honor as he returned to the team after missing out last year due to injury. Benedict, Boos, Colter and Kaukolahti all earned their second honors. Abba, Anglero, Croft, Wise and Viltz were named to the team for the first time in their Cal career.

Both the men's and women's teams were honored for earning a GPA over 3.00 for the 2018-19 school year. The men compiled a GPA of 3.01 while the women notched a cumulative mark of 3.24. The men's team was honored for the third straight year while the women earned the accolade for the fourth consecutive season.
 
To qualify for USTFCCCA All-Academic honors, the student-athlete must have compiled a cumulative GPA of 3.25 and have met at least one of the following athletic standards: For the indoor season, a student-athlete must have finished the regular season ranked in the national top 96 in an individual event or ranked in the national top 48 (collective listing) in a relay event on the official NCAA POP list provided by TFRRS.org. For the outdoor season, a student-athlete must have participated in any round of the NCAA Division I Championships (including preliminary rounds).
