Women's Gymnastics Looks For Another Strong Showing In Sunday Matinee
California women's gymnastics welcomes another Top 25 opponent to Berkeley this weekend when the No. 8 Golden Bears welcome No. 24 Arizona for a Sunday matinee. The Bears' dual meet with the Wildcats begins at 2 p.m. in Haas Pavilion. The meet will be broadcasted via Cal live stream, with Evan Heiter providing commentary and analysis.
TICKETS & PROMOTIONS
The Bears are celebrating Good Grades Day. Children who bring their latest report card with all As or Bs and present it at the ticket office will receive free admission to the meet. During the meet, fans can enjoy a live DJ, the Blue & Gold Fan Zone including poster making, a photo station, and team poster giveaway pre-meet. After the meet, fans are encouraged to join the gymnastics team on the floor of Haas Pavilion for a lights-out dance party.
Tickets are available for purchase online at CalBears.com. Admission to the meet is also still available for purchase at the ticket window on Spieker Plaza beginning 90 minutes prior to the start of each home meet.

39.575 -- Maya Bordas claimed three titles against the Beavers, including the all-around title with her career-high 39.575. Bordas also won bars with a season-high 9.925 and vault with a career-high 9.90.
49.475 -- California's 49.475 on vault against Oregon State wasn't just a season-high -- it was also the Bears' second-highest total on the event in school history. Four out of six competitors in the lineup scored 9.90s or better, led by Nevaeh DeSouza's career-high 9.925.
• It was Cal's fifth score of 197.0 or better this season, and third consecutive 197+.
• Maya Bordas claimed a trio of wins, including the all-around crown by setting a career-high 39.575. She won bars with a season-best 9.925 and floor with a career-high 9.90.
• Nevaeh DeSouza continued her stellar freshman campaign by vaulting to a career-high 9.925 for the event title.
• Emi Watterson earned a 9.90 on beam for the second consecutive week, and claimed the event title.
• Nina Schank made her season debut on floor with a 9.80.
• Four Bears in the vault lineup went 9.90 or better to combine for a 49.475, Cal's highest vault score of the season and second-highest in program history.
• Cal went 24-for-24 on the afternoon.
NQS determines seeding at conference championships and in NCAA postseason meets. In the Pac-12 Conference, the top four-seeded teams compete in the evening session of the Pac-12 Gymnastics Championships, while the lower four teams compete in the afternoon session.
Cal currently ranks 8th with an NQS of 196.980. The Bears' six scores factored into the NQS currently are:

3 -- All three of Cal's all-arounders rank within the Top 20 nationally. Kyana George leads the group at 7th overall, followed by Nevaeh Desouza at 14th and Maya Bordas at 17th. WHAT'S AN NQS, AND WHY DOES IT MATTER?
Beginning on Feb. 24 this season, women's gymnastics programs around the country earn their rankings based on their National Qualifying Score, or NQS. The NQS is determined using a team's top six scores of the season, three of which must be from an away meet.
