Bears Look To Build Off Of Last Week’s Series Victory
BERKELEY – California's non-conference slate continues with another four-game series against Saint Mary's this week, starting with a Thursday contest at Evans Diamond. The first two games of the series will be played in Berkeley on March 4-5 before games three and four take place at the Gaels' Louis Guisto Field in Moraga on March 6-7.
Under Pac-12 Conference guidance and local public health protocols, no fans are permitted to attend the series. There will be no live stream available for the first two games of the series in Berkeley. Fans are encouraged to follow along via live stats.

- Saint Mary's is the third of four consecutive West Coast Conference opponents that Cal faces to open the 2021 season.
- Cal won three of four games last weekend against a San Francisco squad that started the year with a series win at then-No. 2 UCLA.
- Dylan Beavers ranks sixth nationally and is tied for the Pac-12 lead with four home runs.
- Cal's strikeout-to-walk ratio (3.89) ranks 16th nationally.
- Two of Cal's four wins have come in walk-off fashion. Connor Mack singled home Darren Baker on Opening Day for a 4-3 win over Pacific before Cole Elvis smacked a solo home run in the bottom of the ninth inning against USF on Feb. 26 for another 4-3 victory.
- Ian Villers is one of just two pitchers nationally to have started three games on the mound. Normally used as a reliever, Villers has logged 5.0 innings across his three starts.

- Darren Baker leads Cal in batting average (.290) and ranks among Pac-12 leaders with five stolen bases and nine runs scored.
