BERKELEY — 28 games against 11 NCAA Regional participants and three Women's College World Series teams from last season highlight the 2023 California softball schedule, which was finalized Wednesday.

Cal is set to face four NCAA Regional qualifiers during the non-conference slate in Cal State Fullerton, Loyola Marymount, Miami (Ohio) and Villanova, while battling seven 2022 NCAA Tournament squads during the ultra-tough Pac-12 season, including three who advanced to the WCWS in Arizona, Oregon State and UCLA, tied for the most of any conference.

First pitch times for all non-conference games are listed on the schedule below with Pac-12 Conference game start times to be finalized in the coming days. 

The Golden Bears open the 2023 campaign with a trip to Southern California for six games in three days in the greater Los Angeles area. Cal faces San Diego on Friday (Feb. 10) in the season-opener at Loyola Marymount before taking on the host Lions in the back-end of a doubleheader at Smith Field. California then travels to Fullerton for the remainder of the weekend with matchups against Cal State Fullerton and San Diego on Saturday (Feb. 11) before closing the opening weekend against Utah State and the host Titans on Sunday (Feb. 12).

Heading to the Los Angeles area for the second straight week, the Bears face Louisiana-Monroe and host Long Beach State at the Wilson Invitational on Friday (Feb. 17), along with UC Davis and Merrimack on Saturday (Feb. 18) and finish the weekend against the Beach on Sunday (Feb. 19).

Cal travels to the Mary Nutter Collegiate Classic in Cathedral City, Calif. for the third weekend of non-conference play, opening with a third date against San Diego and Utah Valley on Friday (Feb. 24) and a tilt with Cal Poly on Saturday (Feb. 25). The Bears wrap up the weekend with two straight against Power Five opponents in Iowa (Feb. 25) and Texas Tech on Sunday (Feb. 26).

The DeMarini Invitational closes non-conference tournament play March 3-5, with Cal playing four games against a pair of 2022 NCAA Tournament squads. The Bears battle Miami (Ohio) on March 3 at Stanford before a matchup with Villanova and again against the Redhawks March 4 on The Farm. Cal closes the weekend with the 2023 home opener against Villanova on March 5.

The Bears travel to UC Davis for a midweek matchup (March 7) before opening Pac-12 play at Levine-Fricke Field against 2022 WCWS participant UCLA March 10-12. Cal finishes a four-game homestand with another midweek game against Fresno State on March 15.

Opening the conference road slate in the Pacific Northwest with a date against another WCWS team from a year ago, Cal faces Oregon State in Corvallis (March 17-18) and then returns home for a three-game series with Arizona State (March 24-26).
After a midweek tilt at Pacific (March 29), the Bears wrap up a six-game home Pac-12 stand against Utah (March 31-April 2).

Heading into the penultimate month of the regular season, Cal is set for a trio of three-game matchups away from Levine-Fricke Field. The Bears travel to Seattle for three against Washington (April 6-8), play a midweek road game at Sacramento State (April 11) and head to Las Vegas for a three-game set at UNLV during the bye week from conference play (April 14-16). After a home Bay Area battle in Berkeley against Santa Clara (April 19), Cal crosses the Bay for the Big Series at Stanford (April 21-23).

The Bears finish five straight against Bay Area foes with the short trip to Moraga at Saint Mary's (April 26) and return to Levine-Fricke Field for the final home weekend of the season and three games against Oregon (April 28-30).

Cal finishes the regular season with back-to-back trips to Tucson, Arizona, the first for the final conference series against 2022 WCWS team Arizona (May 5-7) and return to Hillenbrand Stadium for the inaugural Pac-12 Tournament May 10-13.
