Adrienne Martelli Promoted To Associate Head Coach

Martelli Enters Her Fourth Year At Cal

BERKELEY - Entering her fourth season with the Cal women's rowing team, Adrienne Martelli has been promoted to Associate Head Coach as announced by head coach Al Acosta today. Martelli previously served as an assistant coach.

"Promoting Adrienne to Associate Head Coach was the easiest decision anybody at Cal has ever made," Acosta said. "Adrienne has had a profound effect on the student-athletes that she works with on a daily basis and with the coaching staff.  We are all grateful for her dedication, leadership and her efforts to continue to push this team forward."

Martelli joined the Bears' program just prior to the 2020 season after a successful stint at Northeastern where she helped guide the Huskies to three consecutive Colonial Athletic Association championships and three straight NCAA Championship appearances.

Martelli is a decorated rower as she captured the bronze medal in the quadruple sculls at the 2012 London Summer Olympics, competed in the 2016 Brazil Summer Olympics and is a four-time medalist at the World Rowing Championships.
