Adrienne Martelli

Adrienne Martelli, a two-time Olympian who won a bronze medal at the 2012 Summer Games in London, is in her fifth season with the Golden Bears and second as an associate head coach after joining the program in 2020.

This past summer, Martelli was part of the U.S. coaching staff for several world championships regattas. At the U23 World Rowing Championships in Plovdiv, Bulgaria, she helped lead the women's coxed four who won the bronze medal. At the Senior World Rowing Championships in Belgrade, Serbia she was part of the staff that coached the women's eight to a silver medal and the women's four, who finished in fourth place. 
 
Martelli earned her degree in biology from the University of Washington in 2010 and went on to a decorated career with the U.S. National Team. She captured the bronze medal in the quadruple sculls at the 2012 Summer Olympics, sharing the boat with former Cal great Kara Kohler. Martelli made a repeat appearance at the Olympic Games in 2016 in Rio de Janeiro, Brazil. She is also a four-time medalist at the World Rowing Championships, competing in both the four and quad sculls 

Martelli began her coaching career with the Princeton National Rowing Association before moving on to Northeastern, where she helped guide the Huskies to three consecutive Colonial Athletic Association championships and three straight NCAA Championship appearances

Martelli started her rowing career as a walk-on at Washington and eventually became a first-team All-American and led UW to the 2009 national championship.
