Another week of NFL games and another terrific performance by former No. 1 overall NFL Draft pick Jared Goff led former Cal football players in Week 6 of the 2023 NFL campaign. Goff completed 30-of-44 passes for 353 yards to establish season highs in all three categories, while throwing for two touchdowns without an interception for a 107.5 quarterback rating.
Two days after the performance, the FOX Sports NFL X account raised the question "Jared Goff for MVP?"
Under Goff's direction, Detroit has the second-longest current win streak in the NFL with four straight victories and its two-and-a-half game lead in the NFC North is the largest in any division.
Goff is one of five Cal NFL affiliates on one-loss teams after the first six weeks of the 2023 schedule, with the others Detroit teammate WR Marvin Jones Jr., a trio of Miami Dolphins in RB Chris Brooks, DL coach Austin Clark and LB Cameron Goode, and WR Nikko Remigio (Kansas City injured reserve).
Cal has a total of 25 former Cal players currently affiliated with NFL teams including 13 on active rosters, eight on coaching staffs, three on injured reserve lists and one on a practice squad.
Below is how each fared in Week 6 action along with other assorted notes followed by a listing of their Week 7 games and the networks televising those contests.
