Cal Hosts Westmont In Exhibition
Tipoff Is Set For 7 P.M. In Haas Pavilion, Free To The Public
BERKELEY – The California women's basketball team will play its lone exhibition game prior to the start of the 2023-24 regular season when it hosts Westmont Thursday night at Haas Pavilion at 7 p.m. PT.
Cal last played Westmont on Oct. 28, 2021 in an 81-62 exhibition win.
This will mark the final tune up before the regular season gets underway Monday, when the Bears host Cal State Bakersfield at 8:30 p.m. The season opener is part of a doubleheader with the Cal men's basketball team, which hosts St. Thomas.

- Returners Leilani McIntosh and Kemery Martin received 2023-24 Pac-12 Preseason All-Conference honorable mention honors.
- The Bears welcome six newcomers to the team: freshmen guards Anastasia Drosouni (Greece) and Lulu Twidale (Australia), junior forward Marta Suarez from Tennessee, senior forward McKayla Williams from Gonzaga and graduate transfers Ila Lane from UC Santa Barbara and Ioanna Krmili from San Francisco.
- McIntosh enters the season ranked 10th on Cal's all-time career assists list with 382.
- Lane was named to this year's Lisa Leslie Award preseason watch list for the third time in her career. The award is given to the country's top center every year.
- New to this year's coaching staff is assistant coach Travon Bryant. Bryant comes to the Golden Bears with over eight years of coaching experience at the NBA and G-League level and has personally worked with perennial NBA All-Stars such as Kevin Durant and Kyrie Irving.
