Bears Split Squad As First Half Of Season Winds Down
BERKELEY – The California men's tennis team will send six Golden Bears to play in the Jack Kramer Invitational and four Bears to play in the Ralston/Neufeld Coaches Challenge, as the first half of the season comes to a close.

SMU is the host of the Ralston/Neufeld Coaches Challenge in Dallas, where
Alex Chang,
Derrick Chen,
Lucas Magnaudet and
Mikey Wright will compete.
Carl Emil Overbeck,
John Kim and freshmen
Alex Aney,
Jonathan Irwanto,
Ethan Schiffman and
Timofey Stepanov will play in the Jack Kramer Invitational in Southern California.
Overbeck, a junior, is the top singles seed in the Jack Kramer Invitational and has a bye in the first round. Each of the other five Bears plays in the opening round of 32.

Bears At ITA Super Regionals
The Golden Bears bowed out of the ITA Northwest Super Regional Championships on Oct. 21, after posting consolation wins in singles and doubles at the Taube Family Tennis Center at Stanford. Cal junior
Alex Chang, the Bear making the deepest run in main draw singles, took Sacramento State's Jan Silva to three sets before falling in the quarterfinals, 6-4, 2-6, 6-4. Doubles also began Oct. 21 at super regionals, but three Cal duos lost in the opening round of 16.
