Three members of the California men's soccer program – Evan Davila, Wyatt Meyer and Nonso Adimabua – were named to the 2023 United Soccer Coaches All-Far West Region Teams, the organization announced Monday. Davila earned first-team status, Meyer was named to the second team and Adimabua garnered third-team distinction.

An all-region senior midfielder as well as an All-Pac-12 First-Team honoree from Sherman Oaks, Davila produced the best season of his career. He posted career highs in goals (5), assists (5), points (15) and game-winning goals (3) – with the winners coming against Fairleigh Dickinson, Dartmouth and San Diego State – to lead the Bears in each category. In the Pac-12, the senior is tied for second in game-winning goals and ranks seventh in points, eighth in goals and tied for 12th in assists. Davila also scored a tremendous goal in a 1-1 draw with then-No. 19 Stanford on Oct. 29, dribbling almost half the field before juking a defender and scoring from inside the top of the box.

Another All-Pac-12 First-Team selection, Meyer was also named the Pac-12 Defensive Player of the Year after the central back/central defensive midfielder helped the Bears (1.06 goals-against average) achieve the team's best defensive performance since 2013 (0.97 GAA). A contributor to the attack as well, the Berkeley native and second-semester junior scored his first goal since 2021 in the season finale at then-No. 22 Stanford and posted two assists in his fourth season. Equally adept in the classroom, Meyer – an English major who's also pursuing a minor in history – was chosen for the 2023 College Sports Communicators Academic All-District Team.

Adimabua, a product of Asaba, Nigeria, adds regional kudos to his All-Pac-12 Second-Team accolade this season. The senior striker led Cal to a 1-1 tie at then-No. 10 UNC Greensboro in the season opener. That scoring sequence began when Adimabua shed defenders, played a 1-2 with freshman Isaiah Thomas and scored the equalizer in the 22nd minute. A dangerous goal-scorer who often drew the most defensive attention from opposing teams, the 6-4 Adimabua turned playmaker at times and ranked second on the team with three assists. He completed four seasons of college soccer with career totals of 11 goals, 10 assists and 32 points.
