Fall 2024: Injury limited the veteran to playing the last eight games of the season (including six starts) in his final season as a Bear…his first game of 2024 came on the road in Cal’s 1-0 upset of then-No. 1 Pitt, which also represented the Bears’ first ACC victory…played 90 minutes in each of Cal’s last four matches, all on the road, as the Bears went 3-1 to end the season…Meyer joined Nashville SC after his collegiate season ended.

Fall 2023: Capped a tremendous season when he was selected by Nashville SC with the 11th pick of the first round of the MLS SuperDraft…in the best season of his Cal career, Meyer was named the Pac-12 Defensive Player of the Year and chosen for the All-Pac-12 First Team… Meyer, who played alternately as a central defender and a defensive central midfielder, was named to the United Soccer Coaches All-Far West Region Second Team…he was also a contributor to the attack, scoring his first goal since 2021 in the season finale at No. 22 Stanford and posting two assists…Meyer was the first Bear taken in the MLS SuperDraft since Tommy Williamson went to the San Jose Earthquakes with the 12th overall pick in 2021.
Fall 2022: Played key roles for the Bears in his junior season, as a defensive midfielder and as a central defender...named to the All-Pac-12 Second Team, to the Pac-12 Fall Academic Honor Roll and to the College Sports Communicators Academic All-District Team...ranked second in minutes played for the Bears with 1,361...led Cal with a career-high three assists, with Meyer assisting on goals vs. UC San Diego, San Diego State and San Francisco.
Fall 2021: Tied for the team high in goals with three and ranked second on the squad with seven points…also had an assist…named to the Pac-12 Fall Academic Honor Roll…scored his first career goal – assisted by goalkeeper Chris Gustini – in the 19th minute of an eventual 1-1, double-overtime tie on Aug. 29 at UC Santa Barbara…in the next game, Meyer combined with Christopher Grey to set up Evan Davila’s goal in a 4-3 victory over UNLV on Sept. 3 in Cal’s home opener…on Aug. 9 at PayPal Park in San Jose, Meyer gave Cal a 1-0 lead over Pacific with a fourth-minute goal, though the Tigers won the game, 2-1…on Oct. 16 at Santa Clara, Meyer began a Cal comeback with a 73rd-minute strike that made the score 3-2, with the Bears later tying the Broncos, 3-3, in double OT.
Spring 2021: Came off the bench to play in nine of Cal’s 10 games...played a season-best 45 minutes in a March 6 game vs. Oregon State in Berkeley…posted his first career shot in a 3-1 win over San Diego State in Cal’s home finale on April 10.
Personal/Previous: Majored in English...minored in history...a forward for the ACC Mavericks, Meyer was a member of the Cal North Team in the Olympic Development Program the previous two years...he is the son of former Cal women's soccer assistant coachÂ
Jennifer Thomas, who also played for the Bears from 1982-85...his father, Rich Meyer, played soccer and lacrosse at Lake Forest College.
