CAL STARTS EXTENDED HOME STRETCH AGAINST OREGON
— Cal knocked off Oregon, 13-12, in the teams' first meeting this season March 17 in Eugene as the Golden Bears scored the game's first three goals and never trailed but needed two crucial saves from Alicia Souliotis in the game's final four-and-a-half minutes to hold on for their first Pac-12 road win since a 2019 triumph at Arizona State and only their third since the Pac-12 began sponsoring lacrosse in 2018
— There is a lot on the line in Friday's contest with the teams currently tied for fifth place in the Pac-12 with three games remaining on the conference schedule for both. A Cal win would give the Bears a regular-season sweep and a total of three straight victories over a conference opponent for the first time since winning all three against Arizona State in 2019
— Cal is dedicating today's game to the life and legacy of Morgan Rodgers and Morgan's Message, an organization created to promote the conversation of mental health. Rodgers was a former Duke lacrosse student-athlete who passed away tragically in July of 2019 after battling mental health struggles. For more information on Morgan's life and legacy, visit morgansmessage.org.
— Cal has won two straight against Oregon, with the Bears also a 14-12 winner the most recent time the teams played in Berkeley last season
— Oregon leads the all-time series, 17-11
— The weather forecast for Friday in Berkeley is calling for partly cloudy skies, a high of 71 degrees and a low of 50, and winds out of the west and northwest at 12 miles per hour
— The game against Oregon on Friday begins a stretch of possibly as many as six consecutive contests in Berkeley with the Bears welcoming Colorado (April 23) and Stanford (April 28) to conclude their regular season before hosting the Pac-12 Championship for the first time (May 3-6), with quarterfinal and semifinal games scheduled for May 3 and 4 at 4:30 and 7 p.m. each day and the final on May 6 slated to start at noon

LAST TIME OUT: CAL VICTORIOUS AT UC DAVIS, 17-12
— Cal closed out both its regular-season   road and nonconference schedules with a 17-12 victory at UC Davis last Saturday
Maya Lawliss, Kennedy Mason, and Amanda Morse each had a hat trick in the contest, while Morse added a pair of assists for a game-high five points

GOSS SETS CAL'S CAREER DRAW CONTROLS RECORD, NEARS SINGLE-SEASON MARK
Kennedy Goss became Cal's all-time draw controls leader during Cal's most recent game at UC Davis when she recorded a season-high-tying eight
— Goss, who moved past former record-holder LizaBanks Campagna (178, 2018-21), now has 185 career draw controls
— Goss ranks tied for fourth in the Pac-12 this season with 66 draw controls
— Goss is 15 draw controls shy of the school's single-season record of 81 set by Eliza Christman   in 2019 and needs 14 more to match her own career-high of 80 in 2022, which is tied with Campagna's 80 in 2021 for second on the single-season list

MORE NOTABLES
— Cal's 17 goals at UC Davis tied a season-high previously set in a season-opening 17-9 win at Lindenwood
— The 17 goals at UC Davis helped bring Cal's goals per game average up to double figures at even 10.00
— Cal is 4-0 when scoring at least 13 goals
— Cal's four wins in 2023 are its most since going 7-12 in 2019
— Six Cal players have started all 14 games this season (Kennedy Goss, Maya Lawliss, Kennedy Mason, Quinnlyn Mason, Amanda Morse, Kacie Riggs)
