Bears Head To Bronco Invitational

Berkeley- The California men's and women's cross country teams are set to race at the Bronco Invitational on Saturday. The meet, hosted by Santa Clara University, will take place at the Baylands Regional Park in Sunnyvale. The men's 8k race will start at 8:45 a.m. PT followed by the women's 6k race at 9:30 a.m. PT.

Cal returns to the Bronco Invitational following a second-place finish for the men and third-place finish for the women last year. Thirteen Bears recorded personal bests at last season's meet. On the men's side, three Bears placed in the top-10, led by Carrick Denker (23:39.9) and Garrett MacQuiddy (23:40.1) who went back- to- back in sixth and seventh place. Caden Carney finished 10th (23:41.1).

Amelia Wardle Stacey claimed ninth place on the women's side and ran her collegiate best at last year's meet.

At last weekend's Bill Dellinger Invitational, 13 Golden Bears set personal records or season bests. Both teams took ninth place overall with four Bears placing in the top-40. Denker was Cal's top finisher and registered a season best for the third straight meet this season. Addie Johnson placed 20th against USTFCCA-ranked teams. She was the Bears' top finisher on the women's side for the second time this season.
