Bears To Compete At Bill Dellinger Invitational
Cal Sends Seven Men, Seven Women To Oregon
The California men's and women's cross country teams are set to compete at the Bill Dellinger Invitational on Friday. The meet hosted by the University of Oregon, will take place at the Pine Ridge Golf Course in Springfield, Oregon. The men's 8,000-meter race will start at 11:15 a.m. PT followed by the women's 6,000-meter race at 12 p.m PT.
The racecourse at the Pine Ridge Course is entirely grass, mostly on fairways with two loops. This will be the Bears second straight year participating in this invitational.
The Dellinger Invitational will feature six schools ranked in the USTFCCCA National Coaches Poll, including No. 2 BYU, No. 22 Oregon, and No. 25 Portland on the men's side and No. 6 Utah, No. 12 Oregon, and No. 18 Gonzaga on the women's side.
Last time out, the Golden Bear men and women competed at the Roy Griak Invitational on Sept. 20 in Minnesota. The men took ninth and the women placed 12th overall. Carrick Denker and Garrett MacQuiddy led the way for the men, taking sixth and 33rd place for Cal respectively. On the women's side, Sophie Tau was Cal's top finisher in 24th place. The Bears are expected to use a similar lineup at this week's race.
