Sophomore Hit .600 With Two Home Runs At Littlewood Classic

California infielder Elon Butler has been named the Pac-12 Player of the Week after a standout performance during the Golden Bears' undefeated weekend at the Littlewood Classic.

Butler hit .600 (9-for-15) in Cal's five victories, collecting two home runs and two doubles to go with seven RBI. Her 2-run homer tied the game against then-No. 17/21 Virginia Tech as the Bears went on to a 6-5, eight-inning, victory over the Hokies.  

The San Jose native scored four runs and slugged 1.133 with a .611 on base percentage over the weekend as Cal improved to 10-1 on the season. Defensively, Butler recorded 10 putouts and eight assists at second base.   

Butler is the first California player to be named Pac-12 Player of the Week since Lindsay Rood on March 12, 2019 and the 95th Player of the Week honor in school history. She also earned Pac-12 Freshman of the Week honors on April 3, 2023.
