Opening Day Saw Four Divers Compete At Pac-12 Diving Championships

FEDERAL WAY, Wash. – The divers for the No. 2 California men's swimming & diving team began the Pac-12 Championships Wednesday at the Weyerhaeuser King County Aquatic Center with the 1-meter dive.
 
The Golden Bears had one diver advance to the finals in sophomore Joshua Thai. Thai finished the prelims in sixth place with a score of 314.05. In the finals, Thai once again finished in sixth place with a score of 314.40.
 
Stanford's Jack Ryan took first with a score of 434.35, followed by USC's Shangfei Wang (396.25) and Arizona's Gage Dubois (357.80).
 
Also competing for the Bears on Wednesday was Conrad Eck, who finished 10th in the prelims with a score of 286.50. Freshmen Jack Clark and Scott Garmen finished 12th and 13th, respectively – Clark with a score of 273.35 and Garman with a score of 259.45.
 
The Pac-12 Diving Championships will continue Thursday with the 3-meter dive. The prelims for that event begin at Noon PT with the finals scheduled to begin at 7:10 p.m.
