BERKELEY – The California women's basketball team will participate in the 2024 Acrisure Classic, a two-day tournament that takes place Nov. 26-27 at the 11,000-seat Acrisure Arena in Palm Springs as announced by the event organizers Monday. The tournament features the Golden Bears along with 2024 NCAA Women's Basketball Tournament participants Arizona, Michigan State and Vanderbilt.
 
The Bears will take on Michigan State on Nov. 26 and will be followed by Arizona vs. Vanderbilt. The third place and championship games will take place the following day.
 
The event is part of the Acrisure Series, one of the largest multi-team events in the country. Television/streaming details will be announced at a later date.
 
This will be Cal's third all-time matchup against the Spartans with the series knotted at 1-1. Michigan State won the most recent contest during the 1996-97 season while the Bears won the first meeting during the 1988-89 season.
 
Cal is coming off its best campaign in five years as the Bears won their most overall (19) and conference (seven) games and played in their first postseason game since the 2018-19 season – advancing to the second round of the inaugural NCAA Women's Basketball Invitation Tournament. 
 
Tickets for the Acrisure Classic go on sale Friday at 10 a.m. PST (1 p.m. EST) and will be available at the Acrisure Arena box office, online at acrisurearena.com and Ticketmaster.com.
