RB Jaivian Thomas finished with career highs of 17 carries and 169 yards rushing in his first collegiate start.

  • Cal has now won each of its last six regular-season games (final three of 2023, first three of 2024), which is the Golden Bears' streak of consecutive regular-season victories since winning six in a row with the final regular-season game of 2006 (Stanford) and the first five contests of 2007 (Tennessee, at Colorado State, Louisiana Tech, Arizona, at Oregon).
  • Cal's 3-0 overall start is its best since the Golden Bears began the 2019 campaign with a 4-0 mark and the fourth time Cal has started 3-0 or better in eight seasons under Justin Wilcox (2017, 2018, 2019, 2024).
  • Cal now leads the all-time series against San Diego State, 5-4, with both teams winning each of their home contests.
  • Cal had two interceptions and now has nine in its first three games. Cal led the nation in interceptions heading into Week 3 games. In 2023, Cal tied for the nation's lead with 28 takeaways (12 interceptions).
  • DB Nohl Williams had the 11th interception of his career, his sixth at Cal and his fourth this season. Williams entered the contest leading the nation in interceptions this season and ranked tied for second among all active FBS players in career interceptions.
  • Cal had one turnover on an interception by QB Fernando Mendoza, which was the Golden Bears' first interception of the season. Cal has just two turnovers over its first three games after tying for the most turnovers in the nation in 2023 with 28. Mendoza finished 21-of-29 for 198 yards with two touchdowns and one interception.
  • Cal finished with 42 carries for 275 yards rushing for its most in a game since rushing for 357 yards (56 carries, 6 TD's) in the 2023 season opener at North Texas.
  • RB Jaivian Thomas finished with career highs of 17 carries and 169 yards rushing in his first collegiate start including a career-long 57-yard run and another for 37 that are Cal's second and third-longest offensive plays of the season. Thomas' 169 yards rushing were the most by a Cal player since Jaydn Ott rushed for 188 yards in the season opener at North Texas on Sept. 2, 2023.
  • RB Kadarius Calloway finished with Cal career highs of nine rushes and 87 yards rushing, as well as his first TD as a Golden Bear on a seven-yarder with 9:36 to go in the third. Calloway had a Cal career-long 60-yard run that was the longest by a Cal player since Jaydn Ott had a 61-yarder vs. USC on Oct. 28, 2023.
  • TE Corey Dyches ran his streak of consecutive games with a reception to 29 in a row. Dyches, who came into the game with his streak tied for the 10th longest in the nation, finished with four receptions for 48 yards including his first Cal career touchdown catch and the 10th TD reception of his career on a 20-yarder from Fernando Mendoza with 1:30 to go in the third quarter.
  • WR Nyziah Hunter had his team-leading fourth touchdown reception of the season with 9:48 to go in the fourth quarter and became the first Cal player with TD catches in three consecutive games since Jeremiah Hunter had one touchdown reception in games 2-4 of the 2023 campaign.
  • Cal had nine different players with receptions for the second consecutive game - Mavin Anderson, Jonathan Brady, Dyches, Jack Endries, Trond Grizzell, Hunter, Jordan King, Mikey Matthews and Thomas.
  • ILB Teddye Buchanan finished with a Cal career high-tying 11 tackles, 0.5 tackles for loss (-2 yards) and 0.5 sacks (-2 yards).
  • OLB Xavier Carlton finished with 2.5 tackles for loss (-19 yards) and 2.5 sacks (-19 yards), all career highs.
  • WR Jordan King had his first career reception for seven yards in the fourth quarter.
  • In addition to Thomas, DB Ja'ir Smith made his first start for Cal. It was Smith's first four-year collegiate start.
  • RB Jamaal Wiley (2 rushes, 13 yards) made his Cal debut.
  • DT Aidan Keanaaina had a career-high six tackles. 
  • OLB Ryan McCulloch had a career-high two quarterback hurries.
