10 THINGS TO KNOW
HISTORIC HOMESTAND
Cal starts 2025 with a 10-game homestand that is its longest since playing 11 straight games in Berkeley from Feb. 20 - Mar. 8, 2015. It is also Cal's longest homestand to open a season in the program's recorded history.
 
STRONG IN SEASON OPENERS
Cal has won each of its last four season openers starting with the last time the Golden Bears opened the season at home against Pacific in 2021 and followed by wins over Houston (2022, 2023) and Kansas State (2024). 
 
FIRST SEASON IN THE ACC
Cal has visits from three 2024 College World Series teams (Florida State, NC State, Virginia), plays series against five teams in the top 15 (Clemson, Duke, Florida State, NC State, Virginia), and takes only four regular-season road trips outside of Northern California (Duke, Louisville, Georgia Tech, Notre Dame) in its first season in the ACC. The Bears open ACC play March 7 at Duke and play their first ACC home game March 14 against Virginia.
 
PJ AND JARREN UP THE MIDDLE
Any conversation about the Cal baseball team needs to include the return of 2024 first-team All-Pac-12 selections Jarren Advincula and PJ Moutzouridis. Advincula is the nation's No. 4 second baseman heading into 2025 campaign according to D1Baseball.com while Moutzouridis is the No. 19 shortstop.
 
TRANSFER PORTAL
Cal has used the transfer portal to rebuild its roster in 2025 with the addition of 11 first-year transfers, including nine from four-year schools.
 
NEW FACES ON THE HILL
Cal's 2025 pitching staff brings back just seven of the 17 pitchers who pitched last year with those seven accounting for fewer than 20% of the team's 487.0 total innings pitched in 2024.
 
CALIFORNIA KIDS
Cal has 38 players on a 41-player roster from the Golden State.
 
2024 WRAP
Cal finished 36-19 (.655) in 2024 for the program's best winning percentage in 58 seasons since the 1966 squad was 32-14 (.696). Cal won its first two games of the 2024 Pac-12 Tournament to reach the semifinals before narrowly missing a spot in the NCAA Tournament. The Bears had 16 comeback victories and eight walk-off wins on their final at bat.
 
HEAD COACH MIKE NEU
Mike Neu is in his eighth season at the helm and has led the Golden Bears to winning campaigns in five of his first seven seasons (five-of-six non-COVID). Neu is only the third Cal head coach since 1977 (Bob Milano 1977-99, David Esquer 2000-17, Mike Neu 2018-present).
 
BASEBALL IS FOR LOVERS
Cal announced its 2025 promotions schedule on Monday and the first promotion is Friday's Baseball Is For Lovers special. Fans can get two tickets to Friday's series-opener at The Stu for $14 and will also receive a special Valentine's Day gift.
