BERKELEY – The California men's gymnastics team closed out its home slate Friday night, honoring its five seniors and departing head coach JT Okada before taking the floor with Oklahoma and Nebraska in the Golden Bears' first collegiate tri-meet of the season. Top-ranked Oklahoma posted a team score of 323.100, followed by Nebraska's 317.100 and Cal's 308.500.

Proceeding in Olympic order, Cal started off its night on floor, with sophomore Tucker Yasunaga posting a 13.200 to lead the Bears. The pommel horse lineup featured a solid routine of 13.450 from redshirt junior Jasper Smith-Gordon in his season debut, followed by Elite Canada gold medalist Aidan Li and his 13.950 – good for a share of the event title.

Junior Theodor Roald Gadderud posted a massive season best of 13.700 on rings – complete with a stick - to give the Bears some momentum, but it was Cal's vault lineup that was the true highlight of the evening. Sophomore Carter Kim led things off with a score of 14.250 and a stuck landing to earn himself his first event title, while junior Khalen Curry, competing in his lone event of the night, earned a stick of his own and a score of 14.150 as the No. 2 man. Up third, Roald Gadderud recorded another big season best, with yet another stick; finally, Smith-Gordon rounded things off with a 14.150 in his best event. In total, the Bears scored 56.750 on vault, the best of any team at the meet and a full two-point season best.

Roald Gadderud notched Cal's best score on parallel bars with a 13.550, along with his third stick of the evening. The Bears' night finished on high bar, where senior Landon Wu cracked his first lineup of the season and posted a team-high 12.500.
