King Signs With A.E. Kifisia WFC

Recent Graduate Set To Start Pro Career In Greece

Recent graduate Velize King of the California women's soccer team signed her first professional contract to play for A.E. Kifisia WFC, the Greek club announced earlier this month.

"We are so happy and excited for Velize in achieving her goal of signing professionally," head coach Neil McGuire said. "She is a top-level player and terrific person who will bring great style to Greece."

King is coming off of her best collegiate season in which she set career-high marks across the board. The forward appeared in all 21 matches with two starts and logged 1,043 minutes, which is more than double her previous season-high mark. The senior ranked third on the team in goals (3) and assists (5), and fourth in points (11).

A.E. Kifisia WFC competes in Super League Greece and plays its home matches at Zirineio Stadium in the town of Kifisia, which is a suburb of Athens. The club was founded in 2012 after the merger between former Greek organizations A.O Kifisia and A.O.K. Elpidoforos.
