Klompmaker Named To Preseason All-ACC Team

Sophomore Is 1 Of 11 Field Hockey Players Across Conference To Earn Honor

California sophomore forward Liz Klompmaker has been named to the Preseason All-ACC Field Hockey Team, the conference office announced Tuesday. Klompmaker was one of 11 players across the conference to earn the recognition, which was voted on by the league's head coaches.

Klompmaker is coming off a stellar freshman campaign in which she was named the 2024 ACC Freshman of the Year and earned First Team All-ACC honors after tying for second in the conference in goals (15) and game-winning goals (5), ranking second in shots on goal (45) and fourth in points (31), while leading the team in each category.

In addition, she earned the ACC Offensvie Player of the Week award on Oct. 29 after netting two goals each in games against Louisville and Wake Forest. The goals against the Cardinals powered the Golden Bears to their first-ever ACC win. Klompmaker finished the 2024 season with six games in which she scored two goals.

Cal opens the regular season at Monmouth on Aug. 29 at 10 a.m. PT.
