The California women's basketball team (11-9, 2-5 ACC) will begin a three-game homestand and start by looking to even the season series against Stanford when it hosts the annual Battle of the Bay at Haas Pavilion on Sunday at 3 p.m. PT.

This is the longest running series against any opponent for Cal, with this being the 106th all-time matchup between the two programs. Stanford owns an 82-23 series advantage, with Cal taking two of the last three meetings.

In the last matchup, which took place at Maples Pavilion last December, it was a four-point game with under three minutes remaining before the Cardinal pulled away. Taylor Barnes led the team with 16 points and Gisella Maul had 10 rebounds.

Stanford is currently 15-5 overall and 4-3 in ACC play. The Cardinal are led by second-year head coach (and former teammate of Cal head coach Charmin Smith) Kate Paye. Stanford features an impressive freshman class that includes Lara Somfai, who was named the ACC Rookie of the Week on Nov. 10, and veteran Nunu Agara, who earned ACC Player of the Week honors on Nov. 24 and is averaging 14.9 points and 8.7 rebounds per game.

Sunday's game will air on ACC Network with Debbie Antonelli and Beth Mowins on the call.
