No. 5 Bears Finish NCAA Championships With 35 All-American Honors

Thai Places Sixth In Platform Diving To Earn First Team All-American Recognition

ATLANTA – The California men's swimming and diving team finished seventh overall at the NCAA Championships, closing the meet with 35 All-American honors.

Freshman Casper Puggaard opened the day in the 200-yard butterfly, finishing 16th in 1:40.35 to earn Second Team All-American honors. His time ranks eighth in program history.

Keaton Jones followed with a ninth-place finish in the 200-yard backstroke to add another All-American accolade for the Bears.

Cal's 400-yard freestyle relay team of Evan Petty, Lucca Battaglini, Martin Wrede and Jones capped off the swimming events with First Team All-American honors after clocking a 2:46.59.

Joshua Thai rounded out the meet for the Bears in platform diving, placing sixth with a score of 395.85 to earn First Team All-American recognition.
