California track & field sophomore thrower Valentina Savva has been named the ACC Women's Field Athlete of the Week after winning her third straight hammer title at The 131st Big Meet, the conference announced Tuesday. This is the fifth career ACC weekly award for Savva, who was named the ACC Women's Freshman of the Week four times in 2025.

Savva posted a season-best mark of 68.18m (223-8) last Saturday at Cobb Track & Angell Field for a new season-best mark as well as the best throw in the nation that weekend. She currently sits atop the ACC women's hammer list and ranks fifth overall in the nation.

The native of Larnaca, Cyprus, is the second Cal thrower to win an ACC weekly award this season, joining freshman teammate Pietro Camilli. This marks the seventh ACC weekly honor won by a Cal track & field athlete this season.

The Golden Bears will be back in action this week at the Mt. SAC Relays (Wednesday-Saturday) and the Bryan Clay Invitational (Friday-Saturday).
