The No. 54 California Golden Bears (14-10, 6-3 ACC) defeated No. 23 NC State (16-4, 8-3 ACC) 4-1 at Hellman Tennis Complex on Friday. 

To begin the match, Cal jumped out to a 1-0 lead after doubles wins on courts one and two. On court two, Fryderyk Lechno-Wasiutynski and Tiago Silva won 6-3. Meanwhile, teammates Alex Aney and Timofey Stepanov clinched the doubles point with a 6-2 victory over No.11 Borisiouk/Leroux. Aney and Stepanov's win marked Stepanov's 100th collegiate win.

In singles play against the Wolfpack, Lenn Luemkemann lost 6-2, 6-1 on court six to give NC State their first point of the day. However, Bernardo Munk Mesa secured the Bears' second point of the day with a 7-6(2), 6-0 straight-set victory on court four. Next, on court two, Timofey Stepanov inched Cal closer to a match victory after he won in straight-sets 6-2, 6-4. Finally, on court one, sophomore Fryderyk Lechno-Wasiutynski upsets No. 21 Martin Borisiouk 6-4, 6-3 to clinch the victory for the Bears. Cal's win over No. 23 NC State marks their first top-25 win of the season.
