Biography
Spring 2020: Was 2-0 in singles and 0-1 in doubles in 2019-20…beat teammate Alexis Nelson, 6-4, 6-2, and also Cal Poly’s Claire Bouquet, 6-3, 6-1, in the Cal Winter Invitational.
Fall 2019: Did not compete.
Spring 2019: Teamed with Julia Rosenqvist to play in their first NCAA Doubles Championship, with the 20th-ranked Cal pair falling to N.C. State’s seventh-ranked Anna Rogers and Alana Smith, 6-7(4), 6-3, 1-0(8), in the opening round of 32…Mraz posted a 15-10 doubles record and an 11-14 singles record in her first full season with Cal…was 8-9 in doubles when teamed with Rosenqvist… with Rosenqvist, upset UCLA’s then-eighth-ranked Gabby Andrews and Ayan Broomfield, 7-6(3), during the regular season…the Bruins went on to win the NCAA doubles championship… Mraz and Rosenqvist also upset Pepperdine’s top-ranked Ashley Lahey and Evgeniya Levashova, 6-3, and Arizona State’s sixth-ranked Ilze Hattingh and Lauryn-John Baptiste, 6-2, during the regular season…Mraz had a 7-1 doubles record when paired with Katerina Stloukalova, and the duo had a No. 62 ranking as of the May 1 Oracle ITA doubles poll…Mraz earned Pac-12 All-Academic Honorable Mention.
Fall 2018: Mraz was 0-2 in singles and 3-0 in doubles…she teamed with Katerina Stloukalova to go unbeaten (3-0) in doubles at the ASU Thunderbird Invitational.
Spring 2018: The Slovenia native went 3-8 in singles and 1-6 in doubles in her first semester at Cal…won her first doubles match – pairing with Maria Smith to beat UC Santa Barbara’s Amanda Atanasson and Lise Sentenac, 6-4, in February…Mraz’s first singles victory came in a 6-1, 1-6, 7-6(9) result against USC’s Angela Kulikov in March.
Personal/Previous: Undeclared major…the right-hander started her Cal career in the spring of 2018…started playing tennis at the age of 5…has a career-best combined ITF juniors ranking of 42nd…took third place in singles at the 2014 European Junior Championships 16 & Under tournament in Moscow and was part of Slovenia’s third-place team in the 2011 World Junior Tennis Finals in Prostejov, Czech Republic... Mraz won her first ITF Grade 2 tournament title, in doubles, as a 16-year-old in the 2014 Matan Gafniel Raanana Open in Israel and then captured her first ITF Grade 2 singles title at 17 in the 2015 Buadors Cup in Hungary…has played for the TK Triglav Kranj club in Slovenia…aspires to play professionally or perhaps to work in psychology…parents are Vladislav Mraz and Kosir Alja…has a sister, Rene Mraz, 18.
