Spring 2020: Went 7-10 in singles and 7-7 in doubles for the 2019-20 season…was 3-2 in doubles in the spring…won her last doubles match, partnered with Anna Bright, as the two beat San Diego State’s Abbie Mulbarger and Nnena Nadozie, 6-3…also beat two Saint Mary’s doubles teams in the Cal Winter Invitational, partnering with Julia Rosenqvist to knock off Jordan Harris and Liesl Pieters, 8-4, and pairing with Erin Richardson to best Lene Mari Hovda and Gabriela Tevez, 8-6…posted a 6-4, 6-2 singles victory over Cal Poly’s Melissa Lamette, 6-4, 6-2, in the Cal Winter Invitational.
Fall 2019: Posted records of 6-8 in singles and 4-5 in doubles…Nelson won twice, including a 6-1, 6-2 result over Santa Clara’s Caitlyn Frankel in the round of 64, to reach the singles round of 32 in the ITA Northwest Regional Championships…paired with Jessica Zeynel in the Cal Fall Invitational, with the duo advancing to the Gold-flight doubles semifinals…Nelson and Zeynel were 2-2 in doubles, while Nelson was 2-3 in doubles with Katerina Stloukalova.
Spring 2019: Finished the year with a 15-9 singles record and 9-6 doubles mark…won her first six singles matches of the spring…won her only doubles match of the spring, pairing with Julia Rosenqvist to top Megan Forster and Sara Nayar, 6-2, in Cal’s 5-2 win at Colorado…Nelson also beat Colorado’s Ky Ecton, 7-5, 7-6(3), in that match in Boulder.
Fall 2018: Posted records of 7-7 in singles and 8-6 in doubles…reached the singles round of 64 in the ITA Northwest Regional Championships…teamed with Anna Bright to capture the Blue Doubles consolation title in the Cal Fall Invitational; they edged UC Santa Barbara’s Tiffany Lagarde and Stephanie Yamada, 8-7(4), in the final.
Spring 2018: Posted a 5-7 singles record and a 6-6 doubles record in the spring to go 6-13 and 8-11, respectively, for the season…went 3-1 in singles in the Cal Winter Invitational in January…won her last singles match – a 6-3, 6-4 result against Sacramento State’s Shamika Dhar in April.
Fall 2017: Was 1-6 in singles and 2-7 in doubles…beat Cal Poly’s Seriana Saltzen, 5-7, 7-6(5), 1-0(8), in the Cal Fall Invitational…finished 2-2 in doubles with Maria Smith, as the duo won its last match of the fall by beating San Jose State’s Tamara Culibrk and Jacqueline Wagner, 8-4, in the Saint Mary’s Fall Invitational.
Spring 2017: Completed her first season as a Golden Bear with a 15-16 doubles record and 9-14 singles mark…partnered with Denise Starr to post a 5-3 record, with all their matches played at court-three doubles… Nelson and Starr clinched the doubles point against Oklahoma State with a 6-3 win over Viktoriya Lushkova and Katarina Adamovic on Feb. 12 in the consolation round of the ITA National Women’s Team Indoors Championship in Connecticut and also clinched the point against USC in beating Angela Kulikov and Sydney Van Alphen, 7-6(3) on March 10 in Los Angeles…paired with Stephane Lin to clinch the point over UCLA’s Gabby Andrews and Kristen Wiley (UCLA) on Feb. 24 and clinch doubles against Arizona with a 6-1 win vs. Maggie Cohen and Sophia Thomas on March 17 in Berkeley.
Fall 2016: Finished her first fall as a Bear with a 6-13 singles record…posted two wins at the Hall of Fame/ITA Grass Court Invitational and at the ITA Northwest Regional Championships…won her first doubles match as a collegian, pairing with Karla Popovic to beat Harvard’s Annika Ringblom and Sabrina Xiong, 6-2, on grass in the Hall of Fame event...paired with Stephane Lin to post two wins in doubles at the Cal Nike Fall Invitational.
