AS A SOPHOMORE (2006): Made 13 appearances with two starts against Stanford, going 0-1 with a 7.84 ERA...threw a 4.1 innings with five hits, one run, two walks and a strikeout versus Stanford May 1...had three strikeouts in 3.2 innings at Stanford May 7...had three strikeouts in 2.2 innings versus San Francisco at AT&T Park (home of the San Francisco Giants) Apr. 25.
HIGH SCHOOL/PERSONAL: At Los Gatos High School was 12-3 with two saves and 128 strikeouts in 95.0 innings as a senior, earning first-team all-league and 2003 Cal-Hi All-State honors...finished his high school career with 28 wins, five saves and 318 strikeouts...was an outstanding high school quarterback...did not play in a losing high school football game, passing for 1,728 yards and 18 touchdowns as a senior, earning first-team all-league honors with the third-best single-season passing completion percentage (73.5) in California high school history...in the summer of 2006 pitched for the Alexandria (Minn.)
