HIGH SCHOOL/PERSONAL:

- Redshirted during the 2011 season and sat out the 2012 season after having arm surgery
- Was a pitcher and outfielder at Notre Dame High School
- Helped his school win the 2008 CIF Division III Championship and earn Cal Hi Sports State Team of the Year and a No. 8 national ranking by ESPN
- A three year varsity player, playing mainly outfield his final two seasons after suffering shoulder problems
- Batted .457 as a sophomore and .384 as a junior, and had a 1.56 ERA as a sophomore
