– Was the Desert Valley Region Defensive Player of the Year as well as an Allstate first-team selection for the first of two straight campaigns as a 2016 sophomore when he had 54 tackles, 5.0 tackles for loss, 2.0 sacks (-27 yards), three interceptions that he returned 59 yards, eight pass deflections, two fumble recoveries and five blocked kicks for a team that finished 7-4 overall and reached the opening round of the Conference 5A State playoffs
