High School: Named the 2010-11 Most Valuable Player of the Freeway League... selected to the All-CIF Division III first team as a junior and senior... averaged 15 points and seven assists per game as a senior at Sonora HS... selected to play in the Orange Country All-Star Game as a junior and senior... twice led his team to the CIF Southern Section quarterfinals, and once to the semifainls... wore No. 11 at Sonora in honor of former Cal and NBA star guard Kevin Johnson... also lettered in football and track and field... named to the Principal's Honor Roll, and an AP scholar... a U.S. Presidential Scholar nominee... achieved a 2350 score (perfect on all multiple choice questions) on his SAT and graduated with a 4.8 grade-point average.
