Jacob Wilson

Cal assistant coach Jacob Wilson returned to his alma mater when he joined the men’s soccer staff in 2016, and he is in his eighth season with the Golden Bears. He served briefly as Cal's interim head coach upon the retirement of Kevin Grimes and before the hiring of Leonard Griffin.

Wilson’s tenure as a Cal player spanned 2004-09, with the Fremont, California, product earning redshirt years in 2004, as a freshman, and in 2007, due to injury. A defender, he earned All-Pac-12 honorable mention and Pac-12 All-Academic honorable mention in 2008 and in 2009.
 
His best season came in 2008, when the converted forward started in 16 of 21 games played, contributed three goals, two assists, eight points and two game-winning goals.
 
A social welfare major, Wilson graduated from Cal in 2009. He played professional soccer in Germany, Portugal and Hungary.
