Biography
Honors and Awards:
- 2025 CRCA Scholar Athlete

International:
- Finished in fifth place overall in the women's eight for the Netherlands at the 2023 U23 World Rowing Championships in Plovidiv, Bulgaria.
- Competed in several World Rowing Championships: U19 in 2022 (double), U19 (double) in 2021, U23 in 2021 (quad) and U19 in 2019 (Spare).
Senior (2026):
- Rowed in the V8+ that defeated the Oregon State V8+ in a dual.
- Rowed in the V8+ that finished in third place in the Jessop-Whittier Cal Cup final at the San Diego Crew Classic.
- Rowed in the V8+ at the Washington dual.
- Rowed in the V8+ at the Big Ten Invitational.
- Rowed in the V8+ against Stanford at the Big Row.
Junior (2025):
- Rowed in the V8+ that placed third in the Jessop-Whittier Cup at the San Diego Crew Classic.
- Rowed in the V8+ that swept No. 10 Virginia and No. 11 Syracuse at the ACC Challenge.
- Rowed in the V8+ at the Washington Dual.
- Rowed in the V8+ in the Big Row against Stanford.
- Rowed in the V8+ that finished fourth in the petite final at the NCAA Championships.
Sophomore (2024):
- Rowed in the V8+ that finished second in the Jessop-Whittier Cup Final at the San Diego Crew Classic.
- Rowed in the V8+ that swept No. 8 Syracuse, No. 11 Virginia and No. 18 Oregon State at the Acc/Pac-12 Invite.
- Rowed in the V8+ that defeated No. 7 Washington to reclaim the Simpson Cup in the Washington dual.
- Rowed in the V8+ in the Big Row against Stanford.
- Rowed in the V8+ that finished second at the Pac-12 Championships to help the team finish second overall – its highest finish since 2018.
- Rowed in the V8+ that won the Petite Final at the NCAA Championships.
Freshman (2023):
- Rowed in the 2V8+ that finished third in the Jackie Ann Stitt Hungness Trophy final at the San Diego Crew Classic.
- Rowed in the 2V8+ in the Big Row against Stanford.
- Rowed in the 2V8+ that defeated the Huskies at the Washington dual.
- Rowed in the 2V8+ that finished third at the Pac-12 Championships.
- Rowed in the 2V8+ that placed third overall at the NCAA Championships.
High School/Club: Competed for Roeivereniging Willem 3.
Personal: Parents are Jet Rutgers and Bart van Westreenen…has two sisters Fien, who was also on the Cal women’s rowing team, and Hannah…hobbies include drawing and sewing.
