Biography
CALIFORNIA SUCCESS
- Completed her Cal career with a pair of PRs at the 2018 Pac-12 Championships, going 1:00.42 in the 100 breast and 2:10.86 in the 200 breast
- Those times put her eighth in the 100 breast and sixth in the 200 breast in school history
- At the 2018 Pac-12 meet, took eighth in the 100 breast and 11th in the 200 breast
- At the 2017 Pac-12 Championships, placed 10th in both the 100 breast (1:00.78) and 200 breast (2:11.83)
- Took 10th in the 100 breast (PR 1:01.57) and 13th in the 200 breast (2:13.01) at the 2016 Pac-12 meet
- At the 2015 Pac-12 Championships, placed 12th in the 400 IM (4:19.10), 14th in the 100 breast (1:02.05) and 12th in the 200 breast (2:13.30)
- Named a second-team Pac-12 All-Academic as a junior and senior after receiving honorable mention recognition her sophomore year
- A four-time CSCAAÂ Scholar All-American
INTERNATIONAL SUCCESS
- Represented the U.S. at the 2017 Maccabiah Games, where she won gold medals in the 100m breast (1:10.54) and 200m breast (2:31.65) and on the 4x100m medley relay, setting Maccabiah records in the relay and the 200 breast
NATIONAL SUCCESS
- Member of the U.S. Junior National team in the 100m and 200m breaststroke
- Won a bronze medal in the 400 medley relay at the 2013 FINA World Junior Championships
- Captured the 200m breast in 2:31.77 at the 2013 USA Junior Nationals meet and was third in the 100 breast (1:09.56)
- Finished fourth in the C final of the 50 breast at the 2014 Phillips 66 National Championships; also placed sixth in the 100 breast C final and eighth in the 200 breast C final.
- Competed in the 100 breast and 200 IM at the 2012 U.S. Olympic Trials and in the 100 and 200 breast and 200 IM at the 2016 Trials
HIGH SCHOOL/CLUB SUCCESS
- Trained with SwimMAC Carolina and recipient of the club’s Perseverance Award
- A USA Swimming Scholastic All-American
- Won state titles in the 100 breast and 200 individual medley and set a state record in the 100-yard breast (1:01.86)
PERSONAL
- Media studies major
- Produced a video blog for CalBears.com and plans to follow er passion for photography and videography after graduation
- Born Jan. 31, 1996 in Durham, N.C.
- Parents are Ann Saunders and the late Allen Roses, who both worked as professors in the neurology department within the Duke University School of Medicine
- Father swam as an undergraduate student at Pitt, while older sister, Stephanie, swam at Mt. Holyoke College
