Biography

A two time Cal All-American in both singles and doubles, Zsuzsanna Fodor enters her second season with the Golden Bears, this time as the assistant coach. Fodor spent the previous season serving as the volunteer assistant and was officially hired on Aug. 27, 2008.

In 2008, the Bears advanced to the NCAA team championship final and completed the season ranked No. 3 in the ITA poll. As a six-time Hungarian national champion, Fodor brings a broad array of experience to the Bears coaching staff. As a player, she compiled a 68-30 singles record and posted a 65-23 doubles record in her two seasons at Cal.

Fodor was twice named to the All-Pac-10 first team; the first time as she captured the 2006 Pac-10 singles championship on her way to Pac-10 Player of the Year honors. Coupled with fellow All-American Susie Babos, Fodor received recognition as part of the 2007 Pac-10 Doubles Team of the Year, as they posted a 21-7 record together.

Fodor earned a No. 5 singles ranking and a No. 2 doubles ranking as a junior in 2006 when she won the ITA Northwest Regional Championship doubles title with Babos. In 2005, she won the singles title at the ITA Regional Championship. She arrived at Berkeley after transferring from Mississippi State, where she was named the Southeastern Conference Freshman of the Year in 2005.

Fodor received a degree in interdisciplinary studies in 2007 and currently resides in Berkeley, Calif.
