Cal Falls To Oregon State Golden Goal

CORVALLIS, Ore. - California men's soccer battled Oregon State to a stalemate most of Sunday afternoon at Lorenz Field, until Raheem Taylor-Parkes scored a 98th-minute golden goal for the Beavers to hand the Golden Bears a 1-0 loss in overtime.

After Cal upset No. 1 Washington on Nov. 7 and fell to OSU on Sunday, the Bears' record moved to 7-6-3 (3-4-2 in the Pac-12). OSU is 8-5-2 (5-2-2 Pac-12).

One of the Bears' best scoring chances against Oregon State came in the 48th minute, when midfielder Francisco Perez put a shot on goal. But OSU goalkeeper Adrian Fernandez made the save.

Oregon State outshot Cal, 18-9.

Seniors Noah Texter and Drake Callender again split time in goal for the Bears, with Texter making a save in the first half and Callender making two saves in the second.

Cal ends the regular season on Nov. 14 in the Big Clasico at Stanford.
