BERKELEY – The California women's tennis team captured three titles as its Cal Fall Invitational came to a close on Sunday, with Julia Rosenqvist winning the top-flight titles in singles and, with Jasie Dunk, in doubles and with Katerina Stloukalova adding another singles crown.
 
The third-seeded Dunk and Rosenqvist edged another Cal duo, the fourth-seeded Anna Bright and freshman Erin Richardson, 8-7(5), in the day's first completed final at the Hellman Tennis Complex.
 
Last season, it was the doubles team of Bright and Dunk that had success in the fall, while Rosenqvist and Hana Mraz reached the NCAA doubles tournament in the spring.
 
"I was pretty pleased with what I saw this weekend," Cal head coach Amanda Augustus said. "We tried some new doubles teams. Overall, it went pretty well."
 
Soon after her doubles win, Rosenqvist moved on to singles, with the 24th-ranked and top-seeded Bear dispatching San Diego's Gemma Garcia, 6-4, 6-1. In the afternoon, she took a familiar opponent in the 68th-ranked Mariia Kozyreva of Saint Mary's in the Blue singles final. The third-seeded Gael knocked off Cal freshman Valentina Ivanov, 6-3, 6-4, in the semifinals, and last year, Kozyreva beat Rosenqvist in the semifinals. But this time was different, with Rosenqvist prevailing, 6-4, 6-3, in the title match.
 
"It feels really good to have won it for Cal and being at home and winning it," Rosenqvist said.
 
In the Gold bracket, the top-seeded Stloukalova bested Pacific's Zoe Eberle, 6-2, 6-3, in the semifinals. But another Cal final wasn't to be, as Gonzaga's Cate Broerman beat Cal junior Jessica Zeynel, 7-6, 6-4, in the other semi. Later, Stloukalova defeated Broerman, 6-7, 6-2, 6-4, to collect her title.
 
Cal next competes in the Women's Collegiate Classic starting Thursday in Malibu, California, and in the Saint Mary's Fall Invitational starting Friday in nearby Moraga, California.
