Bears Look To Snap 3-Game Skid Against Huskies
BERKELEY – The California women's basketball team continues conference play hosting Washington on Friday at 7 p.m. This game marks the 79th all-time meeting between the programs with Washington holding a 50-28 series advantage and a three-game winning streak. Cal's last win against Washington came on the road in an 81-74 overtime victory on Feb. 2, 2020.
Washington, currently receiving votes in the latest AP Top 25 poll, is led by third-year head coach Tina Langley. The Huskies are coming off a 2022-23 season in which they made it to the semifinal round of the WNIT. Washington returns three starters from that team, including former Bear Dalayah Daniels, who leads the team in rebounding.
The teams last played on Feb. 3, 2023, at Alaska Airlines Arena in a 70-54 Cal loss. After getting down by 21 points heading into the fourth quarter, the Bears opened the period with a 12-2 run to get back into the game but were ultimately unable to complete the comeback.
Friday's game will air on Pac-12 Bay Area with Kylen Mills and Elise Woodward on the call.
