BERKELEY – The California women's basketball program has announced its nonconference schedule for the 2024-25 season, including matchups against five teams that played in the 2024 NCAA Women's Basketball Tournament.
 
The 13-game 2024-25 nonconference slate – featuring games against 2024 NCAA Tournament teams Alabama, Auburn, Gonzaga, Michigan State and Arizona or Vanderbilt – can be viewed on CalBears.com. Exact times and broadcast designations will be announced at a later date.
 
The Golden Bears will play an exhibition game against Vanguard on Oct. 31 at Haas Pavilion before officially opening the season by hosting Saint Mary's on Nov. 4. A second straight home game to start the season against Idaho State on Nov. 7 will be followed by a pair of road games at San Jose State on Nov. 9 and at Gonzaga on Nov. 15 – both of which are rematches from last season.
 
The Bears return to Haas Pavilion for the annual School Haas Rock game against Grambling State on Nov. 20, followed by another rematch against Auburn on Nov. 22; Cal bested the Tigers 67-53 in Alabama last season in the front end of a home-and-home series. Cal closes the month of November at the Acrisure Classic in Palm Springs, where it will face Michigan State on Nov. 26 and either Arizona or Vanderbilt on Nov. 27.
 
The Bears will play in their first SEC/ACC Challenge on Dec. 5 when they host Alabama. Their final nonconference road game will take them to Stockton to face Pacific on Dec. 7.
 
Cal closes out its nonconference schedule at home welcoming Austin Peay on Dec. 15 before hosting the fourth-annual Raising The B.A.R. (Basketball, Activism, Representation) Invitational on Dec. 21 and 22. Fordham, Temple and Xavier will join the Bears in the annual tournament, which was created by Cal head coach Charmin Smith to elevate the voices, stories and people in the Diversity, Equity, Inclusion, Belonging and Justice space and bring attention to the lack of diversity in women's basketball by featuring teams led by Black female head coaches.
 
Cal's home and away opponents for the 2024-25 ACC season have already been released, while dates, times and television selections for those specific games will be announced at a later date.
