- Cal improved to 3-0 all-time against North Carolina with tonight's victory. The Bears were also a 35-30 winner in Travers Family Head Coach Justin Wilcox's head coaching debut in Chapel Hill, N.C. in 2017 and a 24-17 winner in the 2018 season opener for both teams in Berkeley. Tonight's contest was their first meeting with both members of the ACC.
- WR Jacob De Jesus finished with a career-high 13 receptions - tied for the sixth-most in a single game by a Cal receiver in program history. It was also the most in a game by a Cal receiver since Chad Hansen had 14 catches at San Diego State on Sept. 16, 2016.
- DL Aidan Keanaaina tied a career high with six tackles
- Cal extended its string of consecutive games with at least one sack to 19 with Chris Victor's sack in the fourth quarter
- QB Jaron-Keawe Sagapolutele passed for more than 200 yards for the seventh straight game to begin his collegiate career. Sagapolutele finished 21-for-39 for 209 yards and a touchdown. He also had his second career rushing score on a 3-yard touchdown run that was the game's first score.
- DB Cam Sidney both forced and recovered a fumble on North Carolina's first offensive play of the game. It was Sidney's first career forced fumble and third career fumble recovery.
- DB Hezekiah Masses had two passes defended. He came into Week 8 games tied for first in the nation with 11.
- ILB Cade Uluave finished with a career-high three pass breakups.
- PK Michael Luckhurst made his 2025 season debut. He kicked off four times for 281 yards (62.8 avg.)
