Bears Look To Clinch Spot In ACC Championships

The California softball team (32-18, 8-13 ACC) will close its regular season slate at Syracuse (27-19, 6-15 ACC) in a three-game series from Friday through Sunday.

The Golden Bears are looking to finish the season among the top 12 teams in the conference to earn a spot at the 2025 ACC Championship, which Boston College will host May 7-10 in Chestnut Hill, Massachusetts.

The Bears currently rank ninth in the NCAA in doubles (85), 17th in doubles per game (1.70), 24th in hit by pitch (43) and 28th in double plays (22).
Cal leads the all-team series against the Orange (4-1) after dropping the last meeting in an 8-1 contest at the Chevron Spring Fling in Honolulu, Hawai'I, on March 16, 2013. It will be the Bears' first-ever trip to Skytop Softball Stadium.

Cal was a part of history this month against Bay Area rival Stanford when 13,207 fans attended The Big Swing at Stanford Stadium, setting the NCAA attendance record.
Cal won 16 straight games between Feb. 21-March 15, marking its longest win streak since 2013.
After 30 years at Levine-Fricke Field, Cal will break ground on a renovated softball facility with an estimated completion timeline of 16-18 months.

BY THE NUMBERS
85 – Cal has tallied 85 doubles on the season, which is two shy of setting a new program single-season record. The current mark is 86, which was set a season ago.

50 – Three Bears have tallied at least 50 hits on the season – Lagi Quiroga (56), Elon Butler (55) and Tianna Bell (54).

17 – Elon Butler and Lagi Quiroga lead the team with 17 games with two or more hits.

16 – Elon Butler has reached base in a team-leading 16 consecutive games. Her longest streak of the season is 20 straight games.

15 – Acacia Anders has tallied 15 doubles this season, four away from her program single-season record of 19, set last season.

13 – Elon Butler has recorded a team-leading 13 stolen bases, seventh in the conference.

13 – Tianna Bell ranks ninth in the conference with a team-leading 13 home runs this season.

10 – Lagi Quiroga has thrown out base runners on stolen base attempts an ACC-leading ten times this season.
